The cabinet on Tuesday approved a pay rise for 130,000 state-enterprise employees whose salary is lower than 43,890 baht per month, said Kobsak Pootrakool, a vice minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office. The increase, to take effect retroactively from Dec 1, 2014, is not over 2%, in line with a resolution made at a meeting this year of the State Enterprises Relations Committee. Mr Kobsak said the increase, proposed the Labour Ministry, would benefit about 130,000 employees. Thailand has 64 state enterprises throughout the country with a total of about 300,000 employees.
